Are you someone who's been meaning to incorporate exercise into your daily Gardening routine, but can't seem to find the motivation? Well, fear not, because I have some crazy, simple yet accurate tips that will help you get moving and grooving and Growin'!


1. Turn Your Daily Commute Into A Workout

Instead of driving or taking public transport, try walking, biking, or even rollerblading to work. Not only will you get some exercise in, but you'll also save money on gas or transportation fees.


2. Use Household Chores As A Workout

Who needs a gym when you can get a workout by doing chores around the house? Vacuuming, mopping, and even doing the dishes can all help you break a sweat.

3. Have A Dance Party

Turn up the music and have a solo dance party in your living room. It's a fun way to get your heart rate up and boost your mood at the same time. (But make sure it's not a 1:00 AM party or at least close all the windows and doors!)


4. Take The Stairs

So easy, but so few of us actually do it. So, Instead of taking the elevator or escalator, opt for the stairs. It's a simple yet effective way to get your daily dose of cardio.

5. Make Exercise A Game

If you're someone who loves games, turn exercise into a game. (Even if you don't like games, this can make a paradigm shift in your mental attitude) Set a timer and see how many jumping jacks or squats you can do in a minute. Challenge yourself to beat your own record.

6. Work Out During Commercial Breaks

Ahhh, gotta love this one, right? Such a waste of time waiting through those boring commercials. Likely you're someone, like most of the country, who watches TV, use commercial breaks as a chance to do some quick exercises. Squats, lunges, and push-ups are all great options. There's tons of videos to give some instruction, so "no excuses, Gardeners!


7. Join A Fitness Class With Friends

Social interaction is another great way to improve our mental well being. Being with friends in a fitness class is a fun way to get some exercise in while also spending time with people you enjoy.

8. Walk and Talk

If you need to have a phone call or a virtual meeting, try doing it while walking. It's a great way to get some exercise in without sacrificing productivity. At the same time try jumping up and down in place letting your arms loose in order to invigorate your lymph system. It can get very bogged down in our sedentary lives. And most people don't drink enough water to assist the lymph system to flush well, so help it out with some in-place jumping.


9. Incorporate Exercise Into Your Hobbies

If you have a hobby like gardening (hmm...is Asset Gardening a 'hobby'???) or hiking, use it as a chance to get some exercise in. It's a fun way to get moving without even realizing it.

10. Reward Yourself

Lastly, don't forget to reward yourself for your hard work. Treat yourself to a massage or a new workout outfit. It's a great way to stay motivated and keep up the good work.
