"Create" Time???

primology4

When it comes to growing wealth in your Asset Garden , time is one of the most important a Gardener must consider. Here in Florida, I've been patiently waiting for the flowering of my 2nd year, Tabebuia tree. It only flowers once a year but it is a glorious flowering as the entire tree blooms full of brilliant yellow trumpet shaped flowers.

Sitting on the porch this morning, taking in the beauty of the sun's early rays lighting up those yellow blossoms in my garden and the many days I've been waiting for that sight, I pondered the idea of the growing plants in my garden and then thinking about growing my assets. It came to me that before I could efficiently grow, or to readily multiply my assets, I needed to understand how to grow my time. In other words, put "time" in my garden and let "time" work for me as well.

Here are 3 thoughts about planting some Time in your Asset Garden:

The first way

to grow time is to prioritize your time in order to use it effectively. By focusing on high-priority tasks and avoiding distractions, you can get more done each day. This can lead to increased productivity and allow you to accomplish more than you thought possible. There are numerous apps that can help with time management.

1. To-Do-List

The most basic of time management tools but a great start. A to-do list app that allows you to create tasks, set due dates, and prioritize them based on importance and urgency.

2. Trello

A project management app that uses boards and cards to help you organize tasks and prioritize them based on importance.

3. Rescue Time

A time-tracking app that shows you how much time you're spending on different activities and allows you to set goals and limits for certain tasks.

4. Focus@Will

A music app that plays instrumental music specifically designed to help you focus and be more productive.

5. Forest

A productivity app that encourages you to stay focused by growing virtual trees. The longer you stay focused, the more your tree grows.

6. Pomodoro Timer

A timer app that uses the Pomodoro technique to help you focus on tasks for 25 minutes at a time, followed by a short break.

7. Evernote

A note-taking app that allows you to capture ideas, make lists, and organize your thoughts, making it easier to prioritize and manage your time. Evernote has a lot of competition including OneNote. One of my favorites is Notion.

The second way

to grow time is by hiring someone to work for you. When you have an employee, a contractor, or virtual assistant, they can handle tasks that you don't have time for or are not particularly efficient at, freeing you up to focus on more important matters. More importantly, depending on what your "time" is worth, this employee/contractor should be doing the lower dollar tasks allowing you to use your time with the high dollar tasks. Having quality helpers, allows you to maximize your productivity and accomplish more each day. Effectively increasing the yield of your Garden.

Here are a few places to look for additional help in your Garden: Online market places like Upwork, Fiverr and Freelancer allow you to post job listings and the results are generally great when looking for virtual assistance. There are companies solely devoted to providing specialized virtual assistance such as Time Etc, Belay Solutions and Zirtual. Other more generalized places to look are social media platforms (like Facebook marketplace) and the old fashioned but effective way of referrals from friends and colleagues.

The third way

to grow time is by using one of your assets, your money, to purchase income-generating assets, such as rental properties or stocks. (hmm, where have we heard about that before???) These assets become "money-machines" that work for you 24/7, generating income while you're doing other things. By accumulating income-generating assets, you actually grow your time and the more assets growing in your Garden, the more often you get paid each day that passes.

So in closing up, when it comes to working your Asset Garden, time is an essential factor that should not be overlooked. By prioritizing your time, hiring workers, and accumulating and growing your income-generating assets, you can also not only 'grow' your time, you can actually "Create" time! All leading to greater success and a more beautiful and rewarding Asset Garden. You might think of planting a Tabebuia tree!
